What Is A Panda Algorithm?
This is the start of a sequence of important quality checks. Google Panda has removed poorly designed spam content search result pages (SERPs) so that higher-quality websites can rise to the top.
One of Google’s main goals at Panda was “content farming.” These websites produce low-quality content that ranks higher due to the number of copies you have.
This was a big problem for Google, which has always strived to make high-quality results for the best user experience. Using the Panda algorithm, Google added two black eyes to content spammers and effectively removed content farms.
Since its inception, the algorithm has become one of Google’s most important ranking signals.
It is continually evolving to make the ranking of low-quality content more sophisticated and raise the bar for sites that want to rank well.
How Does Panda Work?
Finding flat content and low-quality websites can be easy for a user, but it is a complicated search engine process, especially on the vast and diverse web. Amit Singhal,
Google’s vice president of search, told Wired magazine that the method for solving this complex problem should be as scientific and mathematical as possible.
Then, Google researchers developed a series of rigorous questions for website testers to review a selection of domains. From these questions and ratings, the Google team developed a series of ranking signals that formed the definition of low-quality content.
Google is continually changing and improving the signals and metrics used to determine a website’s value. In this way, Google can always track good and bad content and continually provide a great user experience.
Why Is Panda Trying?
The Google Panda update targets websites that:
On-premise lightweight content: Domains that lack high-quality content on many pages often don’t offer a valuable user experience.
This can mean pages with only a few sentences or pages with an inarticulate mass of words. Spelling and grammar are essential!
Duplicate content – When there is a large amount of duplicate content,
pages with very similar or the same content, it can be a sign of search engine manipulation.
In the past, domains may have tried to create duplicate pages that target a specific keyword to increase their chances of ranking for that term.
Machine-generated content – Also known as “rendered content.
” This is a copy that the software automatically creates to populate web pages with keyword-rich but ultimately high quality.
Excessive In-Place Ads – Pages flooded with ads degrade the user experience.
Panda Is Not A Shame
There have certainly been cases where entire domains have collapsed in the ranking due to Panda updates,
but the algorithm is not a penalty. It is still possible for websites that Panda has attacked to get a good overall ranking. This is because individual pages are not devalued to domains with spam content but downgraded to a lower SERP position.
“The Panda algorithm can continue to display such a site for more specific and relevant queries,
but its visibility reduced for queries where the benefit of the site owner is disproportionate to the benefit of the user.”
Preventing Google Panda from negatively affecting your website is pretty straightforward. The finest way to reliably and sustainably improve SEO is to create high-quality, unique content without abbreviations.
Digital marketers always strive to create a campaign that matches Google’s algorithm settings.
From content strategies to building technical websites, there are some considerations to keep in mind:
Otherwise, the page’s content, design, or functions will not meet the requirements. This results in people being removed from the website, resulting in a high bounce rate, poor user experience, and ultimately reduced visibility.
A Domain Must Have Strong External Links As References.
One way to indicate to search engines that you have compiled reliable information from a quality source of information is to refer to your sources.
When Google determines that you strive to provide accurate information to your users,
it understands that you are a responsible content curator and rewards you with increased visibility. These links can help search engines relate your website and the high-quality websites and relevant topics referenced.
Backlinks are important.
Building an excellent backlink portfolio (collection of reputable websites with links pointing to your website) is an essential part of any SEO strategy.
Panda plays a vital role in this and prefers websites with many external sources that link to them,
from websites on which the linked content is positively mentioned. These positive and relevant backlinks show that you are a resource and others see you as such.
Panda Read Your Reviews.
When you have a service or product that independently verified sources could review, give people a chance to rate it on your website.
5-star ratings in a format Google can understand help the search engine determine your service quality and, therefore, your user experience.
